Papplewick Station opened in 1884, powered by two massive Watts Rotative Beam Steam Engines which pumped water from a depth of some 200ft. Lovingly restored and fully functioning, the main engine house is beset with decorations of birds, flora and fauna, stained glass and ornate lanterns. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in architecture, engineering and victoriana in all its glory!
