LANDSCAPES, GARDENS AND BUILDINGS
STAGE 2 - ADVANCED
The second of two days based at The University of Nottingham aimed at those who enjoy photographing buildings and gardens but would like to get even more from their camera on their days out and city breaks.
Designed for photographers who have an interest in architecture and who are reasonably confident with their equipment or who have enjoyed day one of LANDSCAPES, GARDENS & BUILDINGS and would like to consolidate their skills, applying them to individual buildings and gardens in detail. Using the internationally acclaimed Jubilee Campus with buildings by Sir Michael Hopkins and MAKE ( architect of London’s ‘Gherkin’) as our subject, we shall see how a pro tackles this distinctive modern architecture in its designed lakeside setting, working with people and light to get the very best out of every image and creating pictures with impact.
The day includes:
- An enjoyable walking tour of Jubilee Campus using it a specific case study.
- Plenty of tips when photographing individual buildings in their Lakeside setting with a chance to use perspective control lenses (Canon & Nikon fit only).
- ‘Hero’ shots and how to spot them.
- The secrets of light inside and out.
- Classroom evaluation of your images.
- The use of Photoshop for architectural shots with tips on the best correction techniques for those without perspective control lenses. and learn to spot interesting details to describe style & form.
Photographs of the RIBA award winning Jubilee Campus taken by Martine have been published world-wide and she will share her views with you today, as you photograph its distinctive buildings and grounds. These lively courses are based at the university and our room has tables and power supplies should you wish to bring your Photoshop equipped laptop for use in the afternoon.
