2010 COMPETITION- IN CONJUNCTION WITH NOTTINGHAM'S HISTORIC BROMLEY LIBRARY- LINE AND LIGHT ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE ARE THE MAJOR SPONSORS OF THIS NEW ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHIC AWARD.

The competition is open to members of Bromley House Library, members of Photographic clubs affiliated to the North and East Midlands Photographic Federation (NEMPF), members of the RPS, or students at Nottingham Trent University, South Notts College or The University of Nottingham.

 

The theme for this year's competition is NOTTINGHAM-OUR HERITAGE.

 

Entries are invited that reflect your interpretation of the theme. Entries may be in the form of prints or digital files. the entry fee is £2 per image (£1 for students- proof needed). A maximum of three entries per person.

First prize is a place on a LINE+LIGHT course and also a commemorative medal.

Other prizes are from Pen Sense Ltd, Hunter Systems Training and The Nottingham Stamp Centre plus giltware.

NOTTINGHAM TO NINGBO - ONE CITY IN PHOTOGRAPHS
- the work of Martine Hamilton Knight and selected competition entries

 

26th November 2009 - 4th January 2010 - Ningbo Museum and art Gallery - Ninbgo, Zhejiang, China

 

LINE+LIGHT are proud to announce the winners for this local photographic competition which offered 12 lucky winners the chance to have their images of Nottingham exhibited alongside 96 of Martine's renowned architectural photographs in the major Chinese city of Ningbo this winter.

In addition, the 12 peices will then be shown at Nottingham's Brewhouse Yard Museum in the spring of 2010.

 

LINE+LIGHT supported the competition by providing judges (Robert Rowe and Martine Hamilton Knight), who together with David Green and Tristram Aver, of Nottingham Castle,  chose the winning photographs. We have also given 2 wonderful prizes of places on our £89 DAYS OUT courses and our £49 CLASSROOM COURSES. 

 

COMPETITION WINNING IMAGES

The theme celebrated Nottingham's urban landscape- our varied historic and modern city, together with citylife.

We welcomed images that showed the diverse range of architecture, topographical views, scenery or lifestyle fitting within the four follwoing categories- City of Business, City of Culture & History, City of Education and City Life & Leisure.
