TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. A signed, fully completed booking form is your commitment to attend the course. This form deems that the person booking has accepted these terms and conditions and is liable to pay the full amount of the course, which is payable immediately in order to guarantee your place. Payment is by cheque, made payable to Line + Light or by BACS.
2. Early booking discounts apply to payments taken 8 weeks before the course date, otherwise normal stated cost of the course applies.
3. We prefer to communicate with you by email with attachments where possible. These sheets will include information about your course, the clothing to wear, equipment to bring and our expectations of your previous photographic experience. If you are not able to supply us with an email address, we will use Royal Mail post.
4. In the event of insufficient numbers booking on a course, we may, at our discretion, cancel the course. What constitutes ‘insufficient numbers’ will vary from course to course but in any event, cancellation will be notified to the client a MINIMUM of TWO WEEKS prior to the course date.
5. Should the client not forward the full course fee by, at the latest, three weeks prior to the event date, he/she will be deemed to have withdrawn from the course.
6. In the unlikely event of the course being cancelled by us due to low numbers or other unforeseen circumstances, all money already paid will be refunded. Note: Our liability for inconvenience caused by course cancellation is limited to a complete refund of monies tendered. If numbers are low, Line + Light may alter the meeting location for active courses to suit the number attending.
7. If you have a very good reason for withdrawing from the course within 7 days of the date of the course, we will allow you to transfer to a later date for the same course, or another of our courses, but will retain an admin fee of £25.
8. If you withdraw from the course within 36 hours, we will retain 100% of the course fee, unless we are able to fill your place.
9. Unless otherwise indicated, takeaway notes are NOT always provided on Line + Light courses, although ample time is allowed for personal note taking.
10. Many of the external courses involve walking or other physical exercise, often carrying camera equipment. It is the responsibility of the client BEFORE THE COURSE DAY to enquire on the degree of physical exertion required. It is assumed that by the client joining the course on the day that they accept responsibility for and are capable of the required exertion.
11. Clients with special needs or requirements MUST advise Line + Light BEFORE the event so that appropriate measures can be taken. There is wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities at some of our training venues, but courses including outdoor activity are likely to encounter steps, gradients and other physical barriers. Further details can be obtained from the Line + Light office and should be discussed BEFORE THE EVENT, not on the day.
12. Line + Light does not accept responsibility for death, injury or illness caused to a client whilst on a course unless this can be proven to have arisen from negligence on the part of Line + Light. Any claims shall be subject to English law in respect of any question of liability and any proceedings will be in the exclusive domain of the English courts.
13. In the case of participants being under the age of 18, a booking form must be signed by a parent or guardian and for some courses, we shall ask for a minor to be accompanied for the day.
14. Clients are totally responsible for the safety of their camera or all other equipment brought to the course by them. No claims for loss or damage, however caused, will be entertained by Line + Light. Clients should ensure that the camera bags etc. are weatherproof.
15. In the unlikely event of a client not feeling that a course has come up to their reasonable expectations, they must state this to a Line + Light representative WHILST ON THE COURSE so that appropriate action can be taken.
16. Whilst on some outdoor courses it may be necessary to decant indoors in the case of sudden bad weather, if an outdoor course has to be curtailed due to inclement weather after the course has begun, no refunds on the course will be available. Only courses cancelled as outlined in (5+7) above carry refunds.
17. Line + Light will retain your details for our records only. We will keep you informed of future events that are likely to be of interest to you. We will not disclose this information to any third party.
18. We may take photos as a record of your day which we will email to you for your own use. We may also post them to LINE+LIGHT’s Flickr site- to log on, go to our www.lineandlight.co.uk website. If you have any objection to this, please inform us in writing.  
19. In the case of the Location Portraiture days, we ask that if you use the photographs of our models on your website or in display, that thier names are not divulged. You are the owner of Copyright in all images you take on our courses, but the images of persons or property (eg. English Heritage properties) which you shoot are for your personal folio use only. They may be entered into competitions, placed on your websharing sites and displayed in exhibiton, but they should not be used for any commercial purposes. Line + Light courses are for bona fide amateurs, students of photography or those where photography forms less than 40% of their main income.
20. By signing the booking form, the client/you are agreeing to accept all the above Terms and Conditions. The person signing the booking form does so on behalf of all those individuals included on it and all those named agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Booking forms that remain unsigned carry the caveat the the persons booking still agree to be bound to the terms on it, unless they inform the Line + Light office of specific issues PRIOR to their event, which obviously we will dicuss with you and resolve together.
