Welcome to Line + Light 2024

Thank you for your interest in Line and Light as a potential partner for your architectural or built environment specialism.

Since 2008, we have been training individuals and small groups in photography across a variety of architecturally led locations. Headed by Martine Hamilton Knight, renowned photographer and author of Photography for Architects,  together with documentary cameraman Paul Mottram, we offer small group training days and bespoke 1:1 itineraries in both still photography and the moving image.

Our professional consultancy services are aimed at sole practitioners, SME’s and larger architectural practices. We can advise on equipment purchasing, in-house staff training, photographic archive curation and day-to-day professional image management.

Please browse these pages and discover a variety of hands-on options which introduce basic photographic competency and camera-confidence building courses. In addition, a variety of themed day itineraries take small groups to buildings or sites where different styles of architecture may be encountered, providing an opportunity to develop your visual literacy in the most practical sense – in the field.

Consultancy is offered on a one-time or rolling contractual basis, with practice-wide image auditing, analysis and development of an effective professional image management strategy for you or business.
