Smartphone Photography Course
Do you use your phone camera to capture your architectural projects?
Having a camera on you means that you are in a position to capture each and every moment of your working life. Making and sharing images of your professional portfolio can be instantaneous, but how effectively are you using that camera in your back pocket?
Aimed at built environment professionals, this single day class forms a compact, practical working guide for users of Apple IOS and Android devices in order to create effective still and moving image files for everyday business use.
What this one day course includes:
- Lens choice and how this affects the architectural viewpoint
- File types, sizes and built-in phone photo editing
- Understanding exposure and focus control
- Controlling perspective for architecture
- Fine tuning of compositional skills, viewpoint and timing
- Choosing the right apps for assisting your phone photography
- Lots of hands-on practice with architecture and landscape gardens
Unlike our Stage 1 & 2 photography courses, this standalone day anticipates that anyone in your business may be responsible for image-capture and sharing at some point in the working week. We believe that everyone should be able to function as a competent witness to their architectural work in the field.

10.00am – 5.00pm with a morning and lunch break. Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided in the breaks. Lunch is not included but there are kitchen facilities at our venue and a Starbucks nearby. Please contact us if you have mobility issues.
Course Venue
If you come to us: This course runs from Nightingale Hall, University of Nottingham. Photographic subject matter includes contemporary buildings in landscaped settings. The fee includes tutor and room hire. Prices start from £175 per attendee based on a ratio of 1:8
We are also happy to travel to a location of your choosing to run this itinerary.
