Terms and Conditions

 A fully completed booking form together with full payment prior to any course commencement date is your commitment to attend the course. For consultancy work terms are on a case-by-case arrangement. 

Payment is by invoice and BACS.

1. PDF’s about each of our courses are downloadable when making an online booking. These sheets will include information about your course, the clothing to wear, equipment to bring and our expectations of your previous photographic experience.
2. In the unlikely event of a course being cancelled by you after booking but more than 4 weeks in advance of the running date, course fees already paid will be refunded.
3. If you decide to cancel the training after booking and payment has been made but within 30 days from the course date, we will retain a £100 administration charge and refund the residual fees less the cost of venue hire if we are unable to recover this.
4. If you cancel the training within 7 days of the course date, we will retain 100% of your course fee.
5. Takeaway notes are  provided on certain Line + Light courses, these are stated in the relevant webpages.
6. Many of the external courses involve walking or other physical exercise, often carrying camera equipment. It is the responsibility of the client BEFORE THE COURSE DAY to enquire on the degree of physical exertion required. It is assumed that by the client joining the course on the day that they accept responsibility for and are capable of the required exertion. Please notify our of any restrictions prior to the event.
7. Clients with special needs or requirements MUST advise Line and Light BEFORE the event so that appropriate measures can be taken. There is wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities at some of our training venues, but courses including outdoor activity are likely to encounter steps, gradients and other physical barriers. Often old listed properties do not have lifts and certain shot viewpoints may involve using several flights of stairs. Further details can be obtained from the Line+Light office and should be discussed BEFORE THE EVENT, to avoid disappointment, not on the day.
8. Many of our sites are in old historic properties. Each venue will have a risk assessment in place, but we ask clients to exercise due caution on location, especially when navigating rough terrain, steps or working adjacent to industrial/heritage artefacts. We will endeavour to point out site specific hazards and ask you to ensure your own personal wellbeing whilst with us. 
9. Line + Light does not accept responsibility for death, injury or illness caused to a client whilst on a course unless this can be proven to have arisen from negligence on the part of Line + Light. Any claims shall be subject to English law in respect of any question of liability and any proceedings will be in the exclusive domain of the English courts.
10. In the case of participants being under the age of 18, a booking form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
11. Clients are totally responsible for the safety of their camera or all other equipment brought to the course by them. No claims for loss or damage, however caused, will be entertained by Line+Light. Clients should ensure that the camera bags etc. are weatherproof.
12. We may offer you the opportunity to use some Line+Light equipment whilst on your course if you do not have your own. There will be no charge for the loan, but you undertake to look after the kit whilst it is in your care, to return it at the end of the day and are responsible for its condition. Loss or damage will be fully charged to you.
13. In the unlikely event of a client not feeling that a course has come up to their reasonable expectations, they must state this to a Line and Light representative WHILST ON THE COURSE so that appropriate action can be taken.
14. Whilst on some outdoor courses it may be necessary to decant indoors in the case of sudden bad weather, if an outdoor event has to be curtailed due to inclement weather after the session has begun, no refunds on the course will be available. Only courses cancelled as outlined above carry refunds.
15. Line + Light will retain your details for our records only. If you are happy to consent to us contacting you via email, we may keep you informed of future events that are likely to be of interest to you. Your consent will be sought during the booking procedure. In accordance with GDPR 2018 we will not disclose your information to any third party. We never share your details with any other company.
16. Verbal permission will be sought on the day of the course in the case of Line+Light taking photos as a record of your activity which we can email to you for your own use. We may sometimes use them for LINE+LIGHT’s training material, website or social media.
17. In the case of any of our training where a model is used, we ask that if you use the photographs of the models on your website or in display, that their names are not divulged in accordance with GDPR guidelines. You are the copyright owner of all the images you take on our courses, but images of people or properties  which you shoot are for your personal folio use only.
18. By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions during the booking process, the client/you are agreeing to accept all the above Terms and Conditions. The person consenting on the booking form does so on behalf of all those individuals included on it and all those named agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
19. Customers who do not consent via our booking form and agree to Line + Light’s Terms & conditions may not be allowed to continue and participate with one of our courses.
20. If there are LINE+LIGHT Terms & Conditions that require further discussion and/or explanation, this must be done PRIOR to the event, where we will try to resolve the issue together.
